So Long, Farewell...

The time has come. We are leaving our first home, the only home our children have known. The place we made so many dear friends that will be in our hearts forever. The place Maycee first crawled, walked, talked, and SO many other firsts! The place Layla first slept in her very own crib and kept mom and dad awake for SO many nights. We have loved living here and are sad to go...but its time for a new adventure. We are so excited and a little sad too...but the time has come.

Blah

That is how January makes me feel. Every year its the same feeling...and it comes from the cold, the snow, and the need to see the sun! So we escaped to the sun for a few days and headed to Palm Springs. All we did was sit in the warmth of the sun, swim, sit in the sun, eat, enjoy uninterupted time with dad, sit in the sun, and sleep. It was just what we needed... The sunglasses have now become a MUST have while we swim! Maycee really enjoyed her "big hotel bed"! KC and I missed the king bed we are used to...and so it goes with kids. We were so surprised she hugged Dora! Definitely 180 degree difference from how she acted with the characters at Disneyland a year ago. This is Crew Higgins. He belongs to a very old friend of KC's, Patrick Higgins. We happened to run into their family at the resort we stayed at. Funny thing...we ran into them two years ago when we were staying at the same resort in Newport Beach. They used to live in Palm Springs, and knew the great places to eat...and they didn't disapoint!

The night before...And the day of...

Christmas that is!

We drove by to show Maycee the reindeer before going to Sally's parents and this is what we were lucky enough to witness...

Maycee sure loves her little sister!
Grandma Nettie and Grandpa Steve
The girls sure were spoiled!! Maycee was so excited for her new Cinderella doll...
So excited she HAD to have Uncle Joey help her open it right away!
Layla was just excited to crinkle the paper.
Uncle Ryan gave Layla the cutest little hat!
Maycee danced (twirled) with Cinderella while Unlce Clint snapped away on the camera.(All the spinning along with lots of treats may have been why Maycee threw-up on her way home...all over Cinderella, her new jammies, car seat, and blanket. So Sad!)

Some little details from our tree this year. I talked KC into a real tree and I loved it! It was kinda large and looked a little silly in our small front room but I loved the fresh smell. Kc had a hard time getting it put up...it was pretty comical to watch...he said it will never happen again!

On Christmas morning, Maycee was happy to see Santa brought exactly what she wanted...
A Jessie doll
And a red kitchen
Layla again really enjoyed crinkling the paper and putting everything in her mouth...
She looks to be happy about her new Noah's Ark

Love these matching ricking chairs the girls got from Santa!

We spent the afternoon/evening at KC's parents...
Jack takes any chance he can to hold Layla...he is so cute with her!!
The girls got so much...totally spoiled!

These two LOVE their Grandpa Chuck!!!

Not the greatest picture...but our only family photo on Christmas.
She had a REALLY exciting day with NO nap...she was out by 7!

Love this little girl's smile..
Just about the best way to end the day!!
