Pat Pat Party

Anyone who knows Maycee knows she is OBBSESSED with Pat Pat, a.k.a Little Einsteins. So, for her birthday party we decided to have a Pat Pat Party. IT was a little hard finding all the decorations but finally I was able to order them online. Her one request for the day was a pat pat balloon...and she got it. Here's how the party went...
The grub
Fruit, music note sandwiches, and squeeze-its for the kids
"Pat Pat cakes" - in Maycee's words
The guests (thanks so much to everyone that came!!)
The gifts - majority being princess things, including a towel that she had been asking for months for! Thank you every one for being so generous!!

Look how entranced she is with the flame!!

Unlike last year...she actually went for it on the cupcake!
The only semi-good picture of her outfit for the day...I made her skirt!

"I'm Two!!"

Maycee practiced saying this for a few days before her actual birthday, and was able to tell you perfectly on her birthday that she is two! We started the day off opening a few gifts from mom and dad...then it was off to her final swim lesson.

She had been asking for a pink swimsuit for at least two weeks before her birthday...took a little searching to find a cute one but we finally found one. She also got some floaties and a tinkerbell ball and bat.

It was nice that her last swim lesson was on her birthday because dad got to come watch and take a few pictures and Maycee got to swim, which is one of her favorite things to do!

She was obsessed with those ducks!!

She always talked about the crocodile slide, but was afraid to go down it every time she had a chance...until the last day. And she even did it more than once, all by herself!

Every time we have been to Southtowne mall for the last few months Maycee has wanted to ride the little train that goes around the mall. I have always told her "on your birthday" and she sure did not let me forget. So, we grabbed her friend Paityn and headed to the mall for a train ride.

I know...I look freakishly huge! It was REALLY hard for me to get in and out of that car.

The last request of the day was for a princess movie. So we headed home and watched a little of Cinderella. And, we had to make sure Maycee got to blow out candles on her actual birthday, so we had some asphalt pie to finish off the night.

730 Days

Our sweet little Maycee has now been here for 730 days! It seems impossible that it was that long ago that I was waiting in my hospital room for her to arrive. She is such an amazing little girl and we are so blessed that she is ours! It truly blows me away to see how much she has changed since we first met her and especially in the last year!! She is talking non stop...singing any song that she has heard more than once...loving all her cousins...reading books...being a picky eater...loving when daddy is home to play...constantly wanting to swim and go on the swings...obsessed with Little Einsteins, princesses, Dora, and pretty much every kid show there is...and melting my heart, trying my patience, and making me laugh every day!

We LOVE you Maycee Jane!!

Lonestar State

A few months ago KC visited San Antonio with some friends and scored a sweet deal on Sea World tickets. So we took the chance to go down before the second kid comes and take a look at some whales, dolphins and sharks.
I had my first ever experience at Rudy's Barbecue...I can see why KC loves it so much!
Super simple...just meat, cream corn, and a couple slices of white wonder bread...oh, and Rudy's sauce, a Must!!
Its the little things that make him happy!

Ready to embrace the sea life!!
Shamu show...not as great as I remember it being when I was a kid or the last time I was there. Might be because that trainer was killed a few months ago...
"See ya later Shamu"
The newest show at Sea World..."Azul". It's a dolphin and beluga whale show with some high flying acrobats. Pretty cool!
The one place we found where you could pet the animals...not too easy!
We got a good close up shot...but that's about it...
KC got a touch, but it was too far for Maycee...and the picture is horrible because the sun was shinning right in my face!
Maycee just wanted to splash...
She asked for the sharks all day...it was a good note to end on.

Flowers and Baseball

We can't resist a trip to Seattle to visit family and catch the Angels in one of the coolest baseball stadiums...so we took a short weekend trip to see Jacob and Cari and watch a baseball game. Of course we had to visit Pike's Place Market while we were there and it just happened that we were able to enjoy it on a super nice sunny day!

I think KC found yet another reason to go to Seattle...a REALLY good reuben sandwich! We just happened upon this little corned beef shop near our hotel and KC was in heaven!

Maycee was all about the street performers...she watched those guys sing for a good ten minutes!
The beautiful tulips! We were lucky be there the weekend of the flower festival they were having at the market!
Maycee with Uncle Jacob...these two were inseparable...can't decide who loved the attention more...
She LOVED the "ball game"...she is definitely part of this family!

She got her ball...and didn't let go the rest of the game...

Just a little action shot...we got to see a REALLY good game with an awesome ending! Of course with the Angels winning!!
