730 Days

Our sweet little Maycee has now been here for 730 days! It seems impossible that it was that long ago that I was waiting in my hospital room for her to arrive. She is such an amazing little girl and we are so blessed that she is ours! It truly blows me away to see how much she has changed since we first met her and especially in the last year!! She is talking non stop...singing any song that she has heard more than once...loving all her cousins...reading books...being a picky eater...loving when daddy is home to play...constantly wanting to swim and go on the swings...obsessed with Little Einsteins, princesses, Dora, and pretty much every kid show there is...and melting my heart, trying my patience, and making me laugh every day!

We LOVE you Maycee Jane!!

Lonestar State

A few months ago KC visited San Antonio with some friends and scored a sweet deal on Sea World tickets. So we took the chance to go down before the second kid comes and take a look at some whales, dolphins and sharks.
I had my first ever experience at Rudy's Barbecue...I can see why KC loves it so much!
Super simple...just meat, cream corn, and a couple slices of white wonder bread...oh, and Rudy's sauce, a Must!!
Its the little things that make him happy!

Ready to embrace the sea life!!
Shamu show...not as great as I remember it being when I was a kid or the last time I was there. Might be because that trainer was killed a few months ago...
"See ya later Shamu"
The newest show at Sea World..."Azul". It's a dolphin and beluga whale show with some high flying acrobats. Pretty cool!
The one place we found where you could pet the animals...not too easy!
We got a good close up shot...but that's about it...
KC got a touch, but it was too far for Maycee...and the picture is horrible because the sun was shinning right in my face!
Maycee just wanted to splash...
She asked for the sharks all day...it was a good note to end on.

Flowers and Baseball

We can't resist a trip to Seattle to visit family and catch the Angels in one of the coolest baseball stadiums...so we took a short weekend trip to see Jacob and Cari and watch a baseball game. Of course we had to visit Pike's Place Market while we were there and it just happened that we were able to enjoy it on a super nice sunny day!

I think KC found yet another reason to go to Seattle...a REALLY good reuben sandwich! We just happened upon this little corned beef shop near our hotel and KC was in heaven!

Maycee was all about the street performers...she watched those guys sing for a good ten minutes!
The beautiful tulips! We were lucky be there the weekend of the flower festival they were having at the market!
Maycee with Uncle Jacob...these two were inseparable...can't decide who loved the attention more...
She LOVED the "ball game"...she is definitely part of this family!

She got her ball...and didn't let go the rest of the game...

Just a little action shot...we got to see a REALLY good game with an awesome ending! Of course with the Angels winning!!

Sun Trip

We needed a break from the winter we were still having at the end of April, so we headed south to Arizona to meet up with a couple of KC's cousins and their families. We spent pretty much all day everyday at the pool with a mid-day nap break for the kids (and some adults). It was fun to just hang out and relax and not have much planned.

We roasted mallows one night and made s'mores...Maycee was all about helping dad with the roasting.
Enjoying her first s'more!

The pools were definitely the highlight...including a lazy river and a water slide!!
These little guys were hopping around all over the resort. KC told Maycee they would bite her nose...she still talks about the bunnies biting her nose.

On our way to the airport...she had WAY too much fun playing with all the girls and asked to go swimming with Lindsey, Jayla and Bailey for the next week or so.

Yep...The Final Four

Pretty much everyone knows what the Final Four is, even if you are not a big sports person. But if you are a big sports fan (like KC and I) then a chance to go to the Final Four for free is pretty freakin' awesome! KC won a trip from Coca-Cola to the Final Four this year in Indianapolis, Indiana!! Though many tried to tempt KC into taking them instead of me...he knew there was no chance I would let him go with out me! We left Maycee with our families (thanks again every one) to celebrate Easter, and we were off to watch some basketball and see the sights.
The cute flight attendant made these treat bags for us when we told her that it was our first long trip away from Maycee. Yep...those are barf bags filled with first class treats!
Dick Vital was staying at our hotel...he almost sat with us for breakfast one morning. We saw him every day at the hotel and he always said hello!
There was a free concert series in the park near our hotel. We ventured down before the semi-final games. Ryan Seacrest was the guest host...

Showin' the love...
Darius Rucker performed while we were there. I was happy to see a country singer for free...then when he sang a Hootie and the Blowfish song KC was happy too!
Checking out the court from the lower bowl, before we hiked up to our seats...
In our opinion Lucas Oil stadium was a little too large for a basketball game. But, the atmosphere was AMAZING and we got to see two really good games! The top right picture is the view from our seats.
We saw Bill Walton on the street one day...Look how freakishly tall he is!!!
Indianapolis skyline

We didn't end up making it to the championship game (KC sold our tickets) and we are still kicking ourselves for that! But, we did see two great basketball games and get to experience some really cool events (the fan experience hospitality room and bracketown) all for free!!

Easter Friday

So, this year we celebrated Easter a couple days early with Maycee because KC and I were going to be out of town for the Final Four (post coming). The Easter bunny visited our house two days early on Friday...and Maycee was super happy about that.
The loot...

So happy to have a new princess...
Not sure if she was more excited that the egg is pink or that there is candy in it.

That morning we had a little neighborhood egg hunt that we had to move indoors at the last minute because there was still snow on the ground!! Maycee started off a little slow...but once she got the hang of it, there was no holding her back!
See all my eggs??
Hoppy Easter!!
